Herman brings 27 years of theater experience to the Hudson Valley having started his career at the age of 18, while earning a BFA in dance from The Juilliard School.
Broadway credits include; West Side Story revival, Original cast of Cats as Pouncival, and later taking over the role of Mr. Mistoffolees, Song & Dance, Shogun, and Miss Saigon where he starred as The Engineer.
Other credits include; the TV pilot of Fame, the pre-Broadway workshop of Smokey Joe’s Café, and Concerts of Excellence at Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.
Herman provides private coaching in voice and performance and has been a guest teacher for Vanaver Caravan and other local dance groups. He, and his students, have contributed their talents to benefit Angel Food East, American Cancer Society, Animal Welfare Adoption Network, Inside Out Magazine, Carpenter Kids, and The Oliver Project raising awareness and funds for Human Rights Watch.
His credits as director and choreographer include; Pippin, Fame, and last year, at the Center for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck, The Music Man and Oliver!, and most recently Golden Stone's production of Thoroughly Modern Millie and Seussical.

Founder and Artistic Director of CANDY Productions: A theatrical event planning company. Recent design credits: DIFFA's Dine by Design sponsored by GE Monogram and Elle Decor Magazine, receiving four photographic nods from the New York Times / Style section.
Local contributions include: production and design for Breast Cancer Options fundraiser, New Paltz Pride '06 -'07 parade & entertainment, Inside Out Magazine's '05 -'06 anniversary parties. Stage Credits include: Miss Saigon / Stuttgart, Germany (Joey #66 / acrobat); Pippin (Charlemagne); My Fair Lady (Jamie); Turandot & Don Carlo @ The Metropolitan Opera (supernumerary). Recent local theater: Seussical/Golden Stone Productions (co-director/artistic direction);Thoroughly Modern Millie / Golden Stone (co-director/choreographer); Oliver! / Rhinebeck (assistant choreographer); A Christmas Carol / Rhinebeck ( Bob Cratchit, choreographer).
